The names Sparta and Lakonia were once again raised high at the top with the silver award given to the First Harvest Olive Oil by Sakellaropoulos Organic Farming. George Sakellaropoulos has brought 43 awards in 5 years to Sparta, but this award is one of the highest worldwide.
Sparta. A great honorary distinction for Sakellaropoulos Organic Farming was noted at the New York International Olive Oil Competition 2016, which is the largest olive oil competition with the participation of more than 26 countries.
Carried out at New York, 11 – 14 April, 827 olive oil participated from 26 countries like Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Turkey, Portugal, Israel, USA, Argentina, France, Uruguay, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon, Mexico, Japan, Brazil etc. The olive oils that participated were judged by expert panel tasters.
Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms gathered a high score for their FYLLIKON – First harvest olive oil- and were given a Silver Award. George Sakellaropoulos said:
