The international competition OLIVE JAPAN IOOC & ITOC 2026 is considered the Sommelier olive oil competition of Japan. For 2026, its 15th edition, took place in Kyobashi, Japan, from 25 to 31 May. It is conducted under the auspices of the renowned professional olive oil tasting organization "The Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan" which has more than 2000 members and has established a school that specializes in olive oil and table olives.

It is a prestigious competition, one of the largest in the Asian continent, placed in the first places of the world ranking of olive oils, the well-known EVOOWR ranking, while it only awards the best olive oils and table olives in the world with its expert panel tasters.

The Japanese competition applies very strict evaluation standards, based on the tasting methods set by the International Olive Council, exclusively with the method of blind tasting.

The degree of difficulty, the high standards, the integrity and the professionalism of the competition is shown by the huge participation of olive oils from many countries such as Croatia, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, U.S.A., Argentina, Australia, Uruguay etc.

Sakellaropoulos Organic Farms were declared the major– 1st Place Winner in Japan for 2026, ranking 1st place in the overall ranking of table olives (1st Place – Premier Winner Over All Table Olives), with the gourmet table olives Portokalenies Gourmet Olives.

At the same time, they were honored with 8 gold and 1 silver award in the other types of their organic and gourmet table olives, achieving top scores from the specialized judges of the international competition in Kyobashi, Japan, while they recorded an absolute success rate of 100% in their entries, something that is unique to this day in Japan, for a Greek olive producer.
