Greece has been recognized as the world leader in gourmet olive oils, with Sakellaropoulos Organic Olive Groves claiming the top spot in the EVOO World Ranking 2025 (EVOOWR), the prestigious global ranking compiled annually by the World Association of Journalists and Writers of Wines, Liquors and Others (WAWWJ).
The 2025 rankings evaluated 23,758 award-winning olive oils from 38 countries and 1,722 producers, assessed through blind tastings in line with the International Olive Council (IOC) standards. The Greek olive oil sector earned 11,797 points, making Greece the No.1 country for gourmet olive oils worldwide. Sakellaropoulos contributed 3,541 points to this total, securing first place globally as a single producer of flavoured olive oils.
